How the Baccarat Payout Table Works
Baccarat is a comparing card game where the hand closest to nine wins. Cards two through nine count at face value, tens and face cards count as zero, and aces count as one. When a hand total exceeds nine, only the second digit is used — so a seven and an eight produce fifteen, which counts as five. The Player bet returns
your stake plus an equal amount. The Banker bet returns 0.95 times your stake because a five percent commission is deducted on winning Banker hands, reflecting the statistical edge that position holds. A Tie pays eight to one on most tables, though some Evolution Gaming tables carry nine to one on specific variants. Natural hands — a two-card total of eight or
nine — stand automatically and typically resolve the round without a third card.
